PAUL RICARD TEST UPDATE - DAY ONE

© Hoch Zwei

At the end of the first day's testing at the HTTT Paul Ricard track in the south of France, Clivio was 8th fastest overall and Oliver 22nd in the two blue-flame liveried DPR Direxiv cars.

Clivio had a good morning and was comfortably 3rd quickest when the teams stopped for lunch. His engineer, Andy Miller, was not at all downhearted about the afternoon's performance and reminded us that testing is not all about setting the quickest times. It's about trying new settings and new configurations - something that's difficult to achieve at race meetings with just 30 minutes of free practice.

Olivier, back in the cockpit for the first time since Monaco, is struggling slightly with his weakened wrist and will decide tomorrow morning if he will be able to take part in the second day of the test or whether it would be better to rest in preparation for Magny Cours.
